In November we saw the previous fall trends start to reflect two specific formal wear demographics: fall weddings, and black tie party season! So who’s wearing what? I’m glad you asked.
Grey tuxedos and suits represent the lion’s share of November’s top ten list with 5 of 10 styles, including the 1st and 2nd position. With five styles in this color family represented, that tells us that grey tuxedos and suits remain the preferred color for fall weddings; especially garden and destination weddings.
If you’re clever, and you are, you may have also deduced from the top ten chart what the 2nd most popular tuxedo color is for fall garden weddings and destination weddings. Tan suits are also very popular in the demographic and represent a solid 2 styles on the top ten chart.
Our prediction for December has more to do with the last color family to cover on November’s top ten chart, classic black tuxedos and suits. While we believe that grey will stay a strong renter, the most growth that we’ll see will be in the classic black tuxedos and suits family. This is because of the focal shift that takes place every year from outdoor weddings (because it’s cold) to black tie galas and parties (tis’ the season and all.)
